• Improves skin structure and elasticity: Collagen provides the building blocks for the extracellular matrix (ECM) and stimulates the production of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. VERISOL^® collagen has been shown in clinical studies (in females) to support collagen formation, skin structure and elasticity, and overall skin health. Collagen peptides have been shown to inhibit the metalloproteinases (enzymes) involved in breaking down collagen in the dermis. Collagen has been shown to improve connective tissue structure and dermal tissue density, ultimately leading to a reduction in cellulite appearance.
• Protects the skin from damage and supports dermal repair: The skin can be exposed to damage in the presence of inflammatory skin conditions (such as acne, mild eczema and psoriasis) as well as external stimuli. Hyaluronic acid modulates inflammation, cellular migration and angiogenesis, which are the main phases of dermal repair. Vitamin C helps to support skin healing and regeneration through synthesis of collagen and inhibiting inflammation (NF-ĸB) and oxidation, which contribute to collagen breakdown.
