Equinox Botanicals™ is a brand that creates herbal products from the finest ingredients available. Created by Paul Strauss, a young farmer and herbalist in the mid-1970s, Equinox Botanicals™ originated as an herbal salve to address common injuries that accompany farm life. Before long, the salve gained popularity among friends and neighbors, eventually leading to the creation of Equinox Botanicals™.
The brand believes that the quality of its products relies heavily on the quality of its ingredients. The brand's farm and botanical sanctuary is located in Southeast Ohio, also known as "Appalachia's herb basket." Equinox Farm and Botanical Sanctuary is home to some of the largest wild populations of medicinal herbs, such as goldenseal, blue and black cohosh, wild ginger, and ramps in the United States. Equinox Botanicals™ understands the importance of sustainable farming practices and sourcing ingredients ethically. It only uses herbs that are grown organically, without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and ethically wildcrafted right in Southeastern Ohio.
All of Equinox Botanicals™ products are handmade in small batches, packaged, labeled, and shipped right from the farm. This allows the brand to closely monitor the quality of its products from start to finish. The brand utilizes intimate manufacturing processes such as harvesting herbs by hand according to peak potency cycles to maximize medicinal value. Equinox Botanicals™ is committed to continuously improving its sustainable practices and reducing its impact on the environment. The majority of its packaging materials, such as glass, tin, and post-consumer recycled cardboard, are recyclable. The brand's farm and apothecary also run on solar power.
