Ginger in high doses is not recommended in children under 6 years of age due to ginger's pungent characteristics. It is recommended to cease ingestion of daily doses of ginger exceeding 10g a week before major surgery. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Products containing xylitol may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhoea.
